This architecturally outstanding modern tiered house, built into a sloping site, required an equally outstanding contemporary garden design. Detailed and complex by its nature, yet soft enough to enhance and architectural flow of the house, the garden we created seamlessly flows from one area to the next.
The site posed many challenges such as limited access, a vast array of onsite services, percolation areas and working on site alongside other contractors. Defining and adhering to our concise project management schedule was an invaluable tool for overcoming these obstacles.
We edited the landscape plan as required which benefited the garden and allowed it to evolve on the ground around the original core ideas.
The garden, on completion, surpassed the client’s expectations. Curved borders, raised walled planted areas and water features all helped to soften the strong architectural lines of the house.
Seasonal colour and intimate chill out areas all add to the overall ambience in the garden.
Key focal design points include a cosy bespoke handmade stone fire pit and a lush tropical garden situated in front of the swimming pool for that all year round spectacular view.
A large oblong shaped Koi pond is centrally located in the back lawn and allows for amazing views from the master bedroom on the third floor. By night and with the exterior lighting system we created for this area, the view creates a calmness with an almost magical feel.
